三分中演讲稿篇1

i chose a small island country on the pacific ocean. this option is not tonot elected, so had to choose a casually. very early to go abroad to play, butto the time to consider where, but often at a loss. feel that want to go, andthat should go to a paradise-like place, to escape the world, had their owncomfortable and breathtaking life ... ... even if the world is great, but canaccommodate your body, or not much. so, travel is also limited, not just humanand financial resources, and your desire. you want to travel, you will find whatkind of paradise.

i am not a fantasy to adventure, but now there is no such opportunity tolook at the foreign world. i heard that the sky is very blue in japan, theitalian leaning tower is beautiful, australia's beach is very clean, but i didnot have the opportunity to go out and see for himself. when friends know that ihave not passed the country, they are surprised, "is not it? you have not beenabroad?" go abroad, in the now global society which is not difficult, but do notknow why, that is, did not go out ...

"miss, please do not rely on the bookshelf!" oh, i do not know what theyare still in the bookstore it watching the staff a bit helpless and a littleangry look, i quickly grabbed the "world tour" rushed to the cashier.

holding the book out of the center of the bookstore. sunny sunshine, stretched a lazy waist. think that has just made a long dream, those things arealso true magic, the world suddenly in that dream has become very small, veryreal ... ...

home can not wait to read the book, is the night, then with the wonderfulvision of europe, into sleep.

woke up the ne_t day and found everything as old. just the bed of the bookon the cover of the "world tour" four characters, still shining in thesunshine.

days or to have, as for my trip to the world, then talk about it.

you may not know this, but i was on the sailing team all four years.

it wasnsquo;t easy. back then, the closest marina was a three-hour drive away. for practice, most of the time we had to wait for a heavy rainstorm to flood the football field. and tying knots is hard! who knew?

yet somehow, against all odds, we managed to beat stanford every time. we must have gotten lucky with the wind.

kidding aside, i know the real reason isquo;m here, and i donsquo;t take it lightly.

stanford and silicon valleysquo;s roots are woven together. wesquo;re part of the same ecosystem. it was true when steve stood on this stage 14 years ago, itsquo;s true today, and, presumably, itsquo;ll be true for a while longer still.

the past few decades have lifted us together. but today, we gather at a moment that demands some reflection.

fueled by caffeine and code, optimism and idealism, conviction and creativity, generations of stanford graduates (and dropouts) have used technology to remake our society.

but i think you would agree that, lately, the results havensquo;t been neat or straightforward.

good morning, ladies and gentlemen,

as i stand here speaking to you in english, i am already globalized. while shopping, i see the fair chinese ladies carrying prada handbags, i find they are globalized. watching harry potter or lord of the rings with friends—yes, you can anticipate the refrain, we are all globalized!

in this era of globalization, we are one way or another all globalized. but realize this: when peoplesquo;s heads turn to the fresh things that globalization literally delivers to our doors, the traditional things which we take for granted become ignored and sometimes forgotten. considerlao qiang, an ancient form of opera. it has almost vanished from the stage and only fewer than 20 people know how to sing it. so, how can we discover and explore our traditional culture? how can we rejuvenate and share them with the whole world? well, there are three factors we need to keep in mind.

to begin with, the mass media plays a vital role in discovering traditional culture and connecting it with the widest possible audience. one evening in 20xx, for example, when my father and i were watching the final round of the popular tv showstar road, we both became fans for a contestant named a bao. we were attracted by his high pitched tenor voice, his traditional shaanxi folk tunes and shaanxi costumes. apparently we were not his only fans. star road has aroused great popular interest in shaanxi folk music. such media can help popular audiences to discover lost arts and introduce people to them for the first time.

the mass media raise the peoplesquo;s popular interest in the traditional arts, but it is the performing artists who really develop the peoplesquo;s understanding of traditional culture. yang lipingsquo;s dance show yunnan image, based on primitive yunnan dance style, has had an enormous influence in and out of china. yang has recovered for us the primitive life in yunnan. it is the raw and unadorned beauty of nature in her dancing that moves her audience most. we desperately need professional artistssquo; endeavor to discover traditional arts, to train apprentices, and to project our traditional culture on the global stage.

the third strategic factor in promoting our culture in global competition is an audience who knows what and how to appreciate our culture. but todaysquo;s youth—tomorrowsquo;s explorers—are ill equipped to appreciate the traditional culture. take myself as an example: i have had no painting or music classes since senior high school! no extracurricular activities like chinese painting or calligraphy since primary school! what paltry little we learn about our traditional chinese culture is relegated to a few lines and pictures in history books. we need our government and our school system to give us a better opportunity to embrace our traditional culture and discover its rich legacy for ourselves.

ladies and gentlemen, the age of globalization should be a time for cultural discovery, not cultural extinction! our traditional culture needs our concern and support to survive! with our combined efforts, we can save our valuable culture from extinction and showcase it, so it can shine brightly on the global stage, shared and enjoyed by people all around the world!

i am tripping my elephant here

once upon a time, a weenie ant was walking on his way. as he was walking, suddenly he felt the ground shaking terribly. he looked around with his paranoid eyes and saw an elephant walking right behind him. quickly, the little ant covered himself with dirt, but one leg was unfortunately left out. a sparrow saw everything, so she flew down with the purpose of teasing the ant: hey, chicken! watch out your leg, itsquo;s out! the ant felt embarrassed at first but then calmly responded: shi…i am going to trip that elephant.

right now, isquo;m standing on this glamorous stage. but everything here reminds me of is a not so fun memory. around this time last year i was in nanjing competing in another speech contest. that was the first time for me to be in such a large event. of course the pressure i was under was immense too. after a sleepless and stressful night, i went onto that stage without the feeling in my legs. that speech turned out to be horrible. i donsquo;t remember how i get down from there, but i do remember afterwards i just wanted to find a hole to hide in just like the ant in the story. back at my school, it took a long time for me to recover. thanks to all the help i got from my special friends. my confidence was restored. after rounds of giving speeches and answering tough questions, i am here today. from all that isquo;ve been through isquo;ve learned that a good future is based on a forgotten past, if i want my life to go on well i have to let go of my past failure. so today, with out fear, i am tripping my elephant again.

right now, i can see peoples of eastern and western cultures, standing side by side, singing the olympic theme song: we are hand in hand, heart to heart, together we will shape a beautiful tomorrow! thank you!
