generally speaking, there are four sorts of waste. they are material waste, organic waste, inorganic waste and poisonous & harmful waste. now, we are going to talk about each sort of waste one by one.
material waste: it means the waste of substance or things from which something else can be made. for example, people throw away the used metal products and buy a new one, so the old metal waste accumulates. at last, they become waste. for example, when people finish reading newspaper, the paper will become waste. when the glass is broken, it also becomes waste. nobody wants to use a broken window or drink with a broken glass or wear a pair of broken glasses. once it is broken, it becomes waste. the rate of using plastics is increasing day by day. people use plastic bags because they are convenient. when they get home, they throw the plastics way, paying no attention to the environment. the more convenience plastics brings to us, the more plastic waste is produced. this is called “white pollution” as most plastics are white. some of our products we use every day are made of rubber, just like the tyres and the bottom part of our shoes. it’s true that rubber plays an important role in our life. however, it also brings us some trouble when it has been used for a long time and becomes old. the old tyres become waste because it can’t break down by nature. this is really a big problem.

今天我演讲的题目是《低碳环保，绿色生活》

这首普通的词怎么会有这么大的反响呢？因为雾霾，一个和稀泥的气象名词，在一、两个月前成了许多人心中的痛。在诗人的眼中，雾是“来自云朵的精灵，飘飘的，悠悠的拨动着人的心弦”。可是，当雾后面诡异地缀上一个霾字，就令人毛骨悚然了。因为雾霾，我们的首都——北京，成了全世界首都中污染最严重的城市。在那场覆盖了中国五分之一领土的特大雾霾中，我们泉城济南也失去了往日的美丽。据中国环境监测总站消息，在2013年1月14日我国重点城市空气质量状况检测中，济南以污染指数500点高居排行榜第一，连续多日为重度污染，人们纷纷带上了口罩，单双号开始限行，严重影响了我们的正常生活。
中国工程院钟南山院士在接受央视采访时警告说：大气污染比非典可怕的多，非典可以隔离，可大气污染任何人都跑不掉。
确实，地球环境已经到了危险的边缘。河水散发着恶臭，森林锐减，土地荒漠化，海水倒灌、赤潮、水化日益严重。在我国，每年约有1200万吨粮食遭到了重金属污染。我们赖以生活的环境，已经满目疮痍。虽然人类自认为是地球的主宰，可是与大自然相比，我们微不足道。如果我们任由资源的消耗超过环境承载、当污染物的排放达到自然承受的极限，终将有一天美丽的鲜花不再绽放、快乐的小鸟不再歌唱、青山不再披绿装、湖泊不再银波荡漾。而我们人类也许必须依靠氧气罩来存活，那将是一个多么孤寂悲凉的世界啊！
所以，保护环境已刻不容缓，更重要的是坐着谈、莫如起来行！
令人欣慰的是，党中央高的重视环境问题，把科学发展观作为全国人民行动的指南。作为一名中学生，我们终将扛起振兴祖国的大旗。所以我们应该从现在开始，努力学习知识，树立低碳环保的意识，厉行节约，从现在做起、从身边的小事做起。注意一水多用，多用环保型材料，学会垃圾分类处理。劝说周围的同学及时关上流淌着的水龙头，注意矿泉水瓶、废旧电池等的回收，不浪费一张纸、一支笔、一口粮食，爱惜一草一木等等。不要说一个人无法拯救整个世界，你我他都是不可或缺的50亿分之一，只要我们每个人都能够坚持梦想，坚持把低碳环保的理念始终践行下去，清新的空气、湛蓝的天空、鸟语、花香，就不会是我们梦中的奢望。

早上好！今天我发言的主题是“保护环境，从我做起”。我们生活在当今这个科技、工业飞速发展的时代，享受着高科技时代特有的快捷和便利，但有不少人忽略了保护环境的重要性。
首先让我们一起看看世界近年来的环境问题已经在各个国家普遍涌现，成为各地最棘手的发展隐患。
放眼国外，素有雾都之称的伦敦于1972年12月5-8日期间，又被浓雾笼罩。这期间许多人突然患呼吸系统疾病，一下子住满了伦敦各家医院。这与伦敦当时大量耗煤有关，事件发生的当时，空气中的尘粒浓度为往常10倍，它们和浓雾相凝结，从而形成酸雾，成为这一事件的杀手。
回首国内，2010年7月16日，大连新港一艘30万吨级的油轮在卸油时导致陆地输油管线发生爆炸，引起油罐泄漏，至少污染了附近50平方公里的海域。
环境污染的日益严重远在天边，近在眼前，可喜的是我们国家和政府已经意识到它的严重性，积极采取各种措施应对。看着家乡—福州这几年来的发展，兴许许多人会感慨内河的变化。2011年福州内河整治攻坚战正式打响，政府还河于民，70亿元整治75条内河，标本兼治，堪数10多年来力度，原先难以入鼻，浑浊不堪的死水、黑水变成了流动的清水，河道两岸也渐渐恢复了生机。
保护环境也可以是身边小小的一举手，一投足，为了让我们永远拥有一个美好的生存环境，我真诚地向大家发出以下倡议：
1、节约滴水，一度电、一张纸。节约用水，用完水后及时拧紧水龙头，避免大开水龙头，提倡用脸盆洗手、洗脸；节约用电，电器不使用时应关闭电源；节约用纸，多用手帕，抹布，尽量两面使用纸张。
2、努力减少空气污染，节约能源，尽量使用公共交通工具，自行车或步行。
3、为保护森林、矿产等自然资源，尽量购买使用再生材料制成的、可多次长期使用的商品，减少使用一次性纸杯、一次性木筷和餐盒等。
4、减少使用塑料袋，它是白色污染的元凶。
5、自觉保护生态环境，积极参与绿化美化活动。
最后，我想说：地球只有一个，它的生命是脆弱的，不能因为我们为着眼前的发展和获得微小利益，以肆虐的行为，无“度”的获取，使原本已经脆弱的躯体更加脆弱！保护环境就是保护我们自己！谢谢大家！
